After two rigorous phases of online competition, Henry Clay High School’s Army JROTC leadership team secured a position in the 2025 championship event in Washington, D.C. Students Liam Detjen, Carter Deacon, Joshua Jones, Nicole Williams, Courtney Tabb, and Carlie Sons will compete this June in the U.S. Army JROTC Leadership Bowl.
In the preliminary rounds, these cadets underwent rigorous assessments covering a spectrum of topics, including current events, leadership values, skills, and financial literacy. Outshining 1,441 teams from around the world, Henry Clay emerged as one of 40 teams nationwide (and the only one in Kentucky) to advance to the final competition.
The JROTC Leadership Bowl and Academic Bowl are national recognitions tailored for JROTC students. This competition parallels the JROTC mission of “motivating young people to be better citizens.”
